Guest guest
Hi and welcome to the group! The fact that the fibroid is shrinking is a VERY good thing! Many women do bleed during their first trimester of pregnancy and having fibroids seems to increase that chance. At 17 weeks gestation the baby is probably just too small yet for her to feel any of the movement. As the placenta grows, it can block some of the sensation of movement as well --- but as long as her ultrasounds show the heart beating, chances are that baby is swimming around quite happily. There are a number of women on this list who have had numerous fibroids during pregnancy and have gone on to have healthy babies. I am currently 26 weeks pregnant with twins, and my fibroids grew a lot during this pregnancy - the largest has now stopped growing, but is at least 13cm. I can feel the babies quite a bit, despite the fibroids and an anterior placenta. I started to feel them moving (it actually felt like butterflies in my stomach or gas!!) around 20 weeks --- but this is still pretty early and was probably due to me carrying 2 babies. I did have a bleed at 10 weeks, and was put on bed rest for 2 1/2 weeks. This was followed by several months of light discharge -- all pretty normal. The most important things for your wife to do now are to take it easy (no vaccumming or major housecleaning, no lifting, and have her put her feet up periodically throughout the day), eat a healthy diet, drink LOTS of water (10-12 glasses a day), take her prenatal vitamins and continue to see her doctor for regular visits and if anything changes. One last piece of advice --- try to remember to enjoy the pregnancy --- easier said than done, I know! But this is any amazing time, and these little babies are amazing creatures who can withstand quite a lot of turbulance during their development! Congratulations on your baby! Please feel free to ask as many questions as you have. All my best to you and your wife, . > My wife was diagnose of Uterien Fibriod about 5cm big with my 3months > pregnancy last 1 and half month ago.She had abnormal blood discharge > few times (though not upto mensural cyle discharge). Guest guest
It must be difficult to wait it out. I don't have an answer for you, unfortunately. I hope someone here has the experience you need. I will say a prayer for you.
Guest guest
I had severe excruciating pain with my pregnancy due to a degenerating fibroid (the pain stopped around 20 weeks gestation). We both made it through - and I had a healthy son delivered at 40 weeks.
