Guest guest
How much did your procedure cost, did you have to stay in the hospital, how long was your stay in the hospital, did you need to take a LOA from work and how many weeks were you off??? I am a Home Health Aide and there are times when I need to do some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling certainly this will effect when I can return to work if I chose this option. Also, the agency I work for does not allow vacation pay while on LOA. Are there any government assistance programs that will help finacially while a person in on LOA for medical reasons? Sorry for being so nosey, but I need this info so I can make an appropriate decision if action is necessary to remove fibroids. Thanks for the help. Guest guest
Hi- First of all, good luck with your myo! I had my abdominal myo on Oct. 2. I was in the hospital for 2 nights. I did have to take a leave of absence from work, as everyone does, I believe. I was out for 5 weeks. Some of that was unpaid, unfortunately, but it was necessary. This is major surgery, and you do not want to risk hurting yourself afterwards. You will not be able to lift for several weeks, as your doctor should point out. Find out if you are covered by the Family Medical Leave Act, which at least will protect your job while you are out.
