That is something going on with female hormones. Gaining weight is probably just the hypo...and should stop once you're on your optimal dose. cindi
Guest guest
>>How come the Armour is causing my breasts to swell and become tender? And how come I am gaining weight?<< Armour does not cause breast swelling nor does it cause you to gain weight. It is more likely Estrogen dominance that is causing both. Are you menopausal or having rough periods? Hypo can cause the weight gain possibly you are not on an optimal dose of Armour yet, How much are you taking and for how long? Guest guest
Hmmm, I believe I answered a post like this recently. Maybe it didn't get through? Repeating what stated, Armour does not cause breasts to swell nor does it cause weight gain. Breast swelling is caused by estrogen dominance, as can be weight gain. It signals that you may be on a sub-optimal dose of Armour, which is causing your hypo to return and subsequent problems. Armour, by the way, works as a diuretic. Don't feel hopeless. Armour is fabulous and gives fabulous results. Let us know how much you are on. It WILL get better. It DOES get better. I've come from HELL to feeling like a teenager. You will, too. With thyroid hormone, you really just have to hang in there and let it do it's work and get balanced out. I got to my optimal dose by upping my Armour until I no longer had hypo symptoms, making sure my Free T4 and Free T3 were in the recommended ranges, and by checking my basal temp to make sure it was near 98. Guest guest
when I was undermedicated, my hormone levels were well the menopause levels but I am still getting a period. I think the body sucks dry anything it can to keep going. My levels increased even before I added osteogel once I was on thyroid meds. I don't know how many of us tested all hormones before and after. Did anyone else see an increase? That would explain breasts, etc. > >Reply-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >To: NaturalThyroidHormones >Subject: Re: Armour and weight gain >Date: Fri, 17 Dec 2004 03:53:10 -0000 > Hmmm, I believe I answered a post like this recently. Guest guest
How did you get to your optimal dose? I thought the Armour is in direct relation to the female hormones. Probably a week or two after I started taking the Armour I experienced the breast tenderness. Guest guest
Thanks Kerry and Everyone for the support. I cannot tell you how bad my emotions are and how uncomfortable I am in my body. The extra weight is not mystery weight, the weight is due to the fact that I've lost all motivation and I've got an appetite. I also don't feel good about the fact that I have to go sit in the doctors office just to " talk " when all she has to do is either increase my dose or take me off. I don't feel like I've had very much support in this area. I can't talk to my family about this and I don't really have any friends that would care to discuss this either. I normally NEVER use medication of any kind, EVER. So this is scaring me. Dr. Theresa Dale says that natural thyroid and natural progesterone are toxic and damaging. www.wellnesscenter.net I chose this route because my doctor said it wouldn't harm me. I even started eating animal products just to increase my protein and stay away from soy. I am so frustrated. Not a way to be around the holidays. I just feel like running away... Guest guest
I think you need a new dr. If yours is telling you that natural thyroid replacement therapy is dangerous, I'd personally like to see her put her money where her mouth is. I noticed she is a ND, not a MD. A lot of people speak highly of ND's, but in this case, this woman gets a big fat F from me. *pftttt* And a word of warning, if what this dr is suggesting isn't helping, time to find somebody who can. That's how most of us stay sick for such long lengthy periods of time, which is so unnecessary.
