I have a girlfriend who has it. Not sure that helps you at all though.

She's rather closed mind about things - like alternative meds, and even some

normal ones. She's a nurse, whose about as bad as some of these doctors we talk

about!

oh - i did change the topic...thank goodness..thought janie was gonna get me

for sure.

i think this spelling may be wrong - it may be sjogren's syndrome.

it's where the tear ducts and salivary glands don't produce moisture...it's

antibodies attacking the glands that produce moisture.

My dad has it - and he is close minded about alternative treatmnets as

well. I think it came on after he was diagnosed as having high

cholesterol [? low thyroid IMO } and he changed his diet after the hi

cholesterol to ultra low fat which apart from being no good for reducing

cholesterol since the body makes most of it anyway, i don't think it is

good for general health/metabolism. However i am just his daughter and

have zero influemce on him so there is no way he'd have a thyroid check

becuase i said so.

She sees a rhematologist. She doesn't have thyroid problems.(ackowledged thyroid

problems) I asked her about it once, and she is one who totally trusts her

doctors to know best. After all, she's a nurse, and has been trained to trust

the doctors. So she tells me that I shouldn't even take my vitamins etc.

She had Cancer last year, and I suggested some good vitamins and some things

that I had read, and I've suggested progesterone cream (she had a total

hysterecomy), and boy was that a mistake! I've decided to not mention much of

anything about 'alternative' health issues to her anymore!!

But I can ask her anything you'd like me too. She's had it for years and years

now.
