it really is best not to take the Armour to get an accurate picture. because

of the T3 in Armour, you get a spike in the T3 levels that would be reflected

in the blood test...and that spike would not be representative of what is

going on in your body over the 24 hour picture as far as T4 that is converting

to

T3.

And what happens...is if the doc takes that spike as indicative of your true

picture...it's like he/she is assuming you have way more T3 than you really

do.

about 2 hours afterwards ya spike...and then of course it goes downward. I

took a blood test two hours after a dose of Armour...and WOW...that Free T3

sure was high. And didn't give me a true picture at all.

Is getting tested in the morning before any Armour dose a more

accurate way to measure your body's thyroid levels, or is it just a

way to hedge your bets against a doctor who might not want to let

you increase, etc.?

I think it is more accurate. After a dose of Armour, you will have a peak when

it hits your system. Much better to test what has leveled out already there than

to guess if it is peaking or what?

Thyroid and pituitary hormones fluctuate during the day so its a good

idea to get the tests done at the same time in the morning without meds

so that its easier to follow the result patterns independant of dose

and natural hormone fluctuations.

Cindi, I am thinking about my recent blood tests, and when I was

tested. Do you know when the spike in the T3 levels occurs--how

many hours after?
