Guest guest
Clis, there are conversion charts (see on in FILES), but they are HIGHLY incorrect. For example, I was on .125 Levoxyl, and the conversion chart said my equivalent dose of Armour was 1 1/4 grains. NOT. It turned out to be 3 grains. You will end up on a LOT more than the equivalency. When you go to that pharmacist, you need to make SURE you are buying Armour. There will be an A on the tablet. Make sure. I've never heard of a pharmacist selling drugs directly like that! And if you buy a " month's supply " , how will you get the next month, and the next month...and you will surely need more. If you are thinking of self-treating, folks will often start on one grain or less. But within 2-3 weeks, they go up a bit to prevent the hypo from returning...and so on. I've noticed that folk who were treated with very low does of thryoxine agree that the conversion chart is accurate ie 1/2 grain armour =50mcg synthroid or 1 grain armour =100mcg synthroid but that only gives a starting point , it doesn't reflect an optimal dose. -- Alison http://www.alisonashwell.com new work uploaded http://www.artwanted/alisonashwell
