Guest guest
Here we go...we just got fitted yesterday. The schedule is to wear it one hour the first day, two the next (today), then 4 hours, then 8 hours then to 23 hours. Did everyone else do that as well. Does the sweating evenutally subside once they regulate? Or will we continually have to take the band off every so often to wipe his head (I am talking a few weeks down the road)? Obviously when we are out of the a/c, whenever, I would think I would have to wipe down his head more frequently, right? A bit bewildered at this point :-) Thanks! Guest guest
We followed the same break in schedule as well. The sweating definitely subsides once they get use to it, probably within about a week. Just wipe it down as needed. If no red marks, we were to put it right back on during the first two days. Well, there were red marks (that lasted over 3 hours) so we didn't put it right back on. We were told to wait however long it took for the red marks to disappear and then put it right back on. I wonder why the difference in the schedule you were given and the one we were given? Guest guest
Tammy -- I believe the wearing/adjustment instructions vary depending on the type of band you have. Cara has the starband, and it sounds to me like you have a docband...that's what we have and we received the same instructions that you did.ishtob2019 <ishtob2019@...> wrote: > > Here we go...we just got fitted yesterday. Guest guest
Tammy - We received the same instructions that Cara did for our son's STARband - 1 hour on/1 hour off, first day; 2 hours on/1 hour off, second day; 4 hours on/1 hour off, third day; 8 hours on/1 hour off, fourth day; 23 hours on/1 hour off, fifth day until treatment completed. No sleeping in the band until the third day. These instructions were photocopied directly from an Orthomerica brochure. Do you know if the instructions you were given came directly from Orthomerica or were they something that your ortho typed up? If anyone wants a copy I can scan it and e-mail it to you or even fax it. Guest guest
ooops! That's right - it is a DOCband not a STARband. We went to Cranial Tech. Guest guest
ooops Molly - Cris just brought it to my attention that Skylar has the Cranial Tech DOCband, not the Starband. So that's the reason for schedule difference.
