Guest guest
I feel exactly the same way about anything I put on my skin!...and therefore in my body. The sesame oil...etc. EPSOM salts very good...gets magnesium into the tissues (VERY important for heavy metal toxicity.) I had a doctor once test the face makeups I was using, and everything ALmay that had, had arsenic in it, Argh! Waterproof mascara has mercury in it..not sure about the others. Hulda is a die hard and talks of using beet powder in beeswax to tint your lips...and back to charcoal for the eyes...much like the Egyptians used to do, I suppose. Yup....I jsut CRINGE big time when I go into stores anymore a walk down the " PERSONAL CARE and HEALTH isles. I usedto think they were fine too. Poor people out there are spending oodles on this crap not even knowing how bad it all is. Just add some color and perfume/chemicals, a fancy label and there you go. One thing I DO enjoy is getting some good sea salt or sugar and using it as a scrub in a good almond, or apricot oil or something. Forget paying a fortune for the stuff they now sell in cans. But golly gee, I do have to use goops and things for my hair. God gave me 2 hairs in 3 rows and without anything...well, it is a sad sight to see, lOL! Going down south to get MAN next week....wish me luck. (long story) ~Inga > > I have to be very careful about beauty products as I'm so very chemically > sensitive & allergic to most things. Guest guest
Good for you too then Inga. I have a herbalist/fanatic chemically sensitive friend who says epsom salts has chemicals in it so she won't take a bath in it. She uses sea salt instead. I've used both. But I get better results with the epsom salts & I don't see on the label where there's any chemicals in it. So I ignore her & use it anyway. None of the cosmetics I've ever seen has anything good or safe in them so I never use them anymore, tho I used to when I was young, naive & dumb. I know better now. I'm like you in the health/cosmetics stores aisles. There's so much chemicals & crap in that stuff. Just read the labels. I use a charcoal pencil for my eyebrows. But I also use goops & sprays on my very fine, limp hair. Also there's an abundance of crappy chemicals in laundry detergents/aids & in all cleaning products or insecticides. Unfortunately the natural alternatives stores charge exhorbitant prices. So what to use instead? I've used natural & herbal things instead as much as I learn about & afford to do or make myself. My daughter makes my sugar or sea salt rosemary oil or lavendar oil scrubs. Good luck with meeting your MAN soon.
