Guest guest
Hi Inga, I don't fully understand it. I think I did at one point but I've forgotten, LOL! I might check the book out again and reread that part. Or see if that is on the website. 70-80 grams is not bad, remeber he says that everyone as a setpoint. Guys can normally get away with 90-120 grams a day. Women might not. Everybody is different. I think your doing fine at that. One of the things with Atkins, I've lost more inches than pounds. One of the other keys with ANY lifestyle change. Intentional exercise. Park further out in the parking lot, walking to places close by, stairs not elevators, stuff like that every day adds up. Walk around the block every evening or morning. After a few weeks add another block. You don't have to do much to change a few things. And drink lots of water. In our case, water that has been through an RO system to get out the flouride and cholorine. Kate > >> I get VERY sick on Atkins. Guest guest
I think your blood type might be a good indicator as to whether or not you should use the Atkins diet, or at least on how to modify it for your needs. I'm a type O. That's perfect for the Atkins diet. Type O's need lots of meat, particularly beef. When I've tried to go strictly vegetarian, I get very ill. One of the other blood types is better off as a vegetarian and when they try to do Atkins, they get very ill because they eat high levels of meat. So, those in the types that should be more vegetarian might want to look at nuts and other alternatives to meat proteins if they want to do the Atkins diet. There's a series of books out there called " Eat Right For Your Blood Type " that explains it all. By the way, I love the Atkins diet! I've lost 45 pounds with it so far. I'm in a bad stall right now, which happens occasionally. I lose 30 pounds, then go back up a bit, then lose 30 more. Last time I went back up 10, this time just 3 so far. Holiday time really sucks for sugary stuff being around the office! :-) Joy
Guest guest
I keep my cholesterol and triglycerides down with policosanol and fish oil capsules. in Va. Re: Re: *Losing weight -Atkins Well then, taking a little soy lecithin everyday to keep the cholesterol level even & balanced & to keep the triglycerides count down would be okay too then I would suppose. Guest guest
Sorry, Caroline, but I've been cleaning out my kitchen today and found my bottle of Bragg's aminos. It DOES come from soybeans. I don't know whether the way it's processed makes a difference or not. But it comes from soy. Have they found another way to make it? My bottle IS an old bottle. in Va. Val, Try using Bragg's Aminos instead of soy sauce. It tastes exactly the same but hasn't got a drop of soy in it. It's all protein..amino acids. I get mine at my health food store cuz I love chinese food too & stir fries I make myself. I also put it in veggie soups I make nearly everyday in my crock pot.
