Mine was so high they wanted to hospitalize me as it was unresponsive to meds, but it is low normal now, and not ONE of the three doctors I went to said BOO about it might be from being hypo. Guest guest
Oh okay. I know a lady and her blood pressure was always in the 90s over 70s. She is a vegetarian. So does meat make your blood pressure go up too? I know it is harder to digest then vegetables .chuckle Jamy wrote: It is a mineral steroid. Guest guest
>>did you have low blood pressure before you went hypo? Mine was always low until I started with this whole hypo << For years even being hypo I had low blood pressure. Then it suddenly shot up. I feel very certain that year I had a total thyroid crash. I was SO sick I can barely remember anything about that time except how bad I felt. That is the most doctors I have ever seen in my life in a year! I think I went to 5 different doctors. Then I got desperate and started ordering Armour online. I have seen a doctor exactly three times since then in almost 6 years. They didn't correct my problems then either! Of course, now I >need more Armour because Tenormin is an antithyroid. > > > > > > > My blood pressure has risen since being on Armour - in fact it has gone from low to pretty high - 149/95 which had a huge effect on how i was feeling. I'm not sure what specifically has caused the blood pressure increase but it only started with taking Armour and my Dr was somewhat concerned . I was concerned as well since i was feeling so much better on Armour and did not want to have to halt the increases. Anyway after seeing the Dr the last time i searched around and discovered a blood pressure monitor that also has a depression facility by stimulating accupuncture points. After familiarising myself with the blood pressure monitoring for a couple of days i could see that my BP was definitely in the high range. Several treatments with the accupunctrue pads brought by blood pressure down to a more respectable 120/85 - however i am having to do theese every day - its revcommneded that they are done every day for 4-6 weeks. I know that skipping a day lead to my bp going back up and a headavvche. Its early days but i am hoping that this will have a continual good effect on my blood pressure. Unfortunatley these machines are not licensed for the us for some reason however i'm in France so that was not a problem for me and the folkk were helpful and speedy in sending the item It has been suggested that its a lack of progesterone that has increased my BP so i will be investigating that soon too -- Alison http://www.alisonashwell.com new work uploaded http://www.artwanted/alisonashwell
Guest guest
>>Beta-blockers Drugs called beta-blockers (eg propranolol or atenolol) are sometimes used to treat the symptoms of hyperthyroidism, for example while waiting for a treatment such as radioiodine to become fully effective.<< Atenolol is one of the drugs I was prescribed during my worst phase of thyroid disease. It made things worse! More Armour was the fix. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
One thing I forgot to mention. I don't want to encourage anyone to go off blood pressure meds just cause I got away with it! LOL My high blood pressure was caused by fluid retention from hypothyroidism. If you have high blood pressure and no fluid retention, it may be from other causes and may not respond like I did to more Armour. Be careful, please. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat?
