It is not that tasty is it?? LOL I was on 50 mcg of Synthroid. So, what is this compared to 60 mg of Armour Thyroid. I think I will cut them up and take 1/2 mornings and 1/2 afternoons after this, because it is in the afternoon when I am at my worst. The only thing I hate about doing this is spacing out food, and my Vitamins. If I take my Vitamins to late in the evening, I can't sleep! Yeah, I was thinking about ordering the test to do myself. I will take it in to show her, even though she is not going to like it. Or, I might find another Dr. by then! Still looking! Shame she only gave me a 3 month prescription of Armour. Yuck, when I exhale, I can taste the fumes coming from the Armour, but it is still worth taking!! Kathy What a day at the Dr's Kathy, how much $ynthroid were you on? One grain could be too much to start. The half-life of the T4 in $ynthroid is eight days so it will gradually move out of your body over a week to two. Armour has a fairly immediate effect. In six weeks, I'd get FT3, FT4 and TSH from www.healthcheckusa.com Then you can get what you want. The TSH is quite good for me. Whenever, I go below 0.40, I get very hyper even with a low FT3. Doc sounds like a real loser. Val I can't wait to start my Armour!!!! I have to go back in 6 weeks for a TSH, only. According to her, that is all that is necessary! She just shook her head when I mentioned the Free T4 and T3 testing. Is it any wonder people are loosing trust in Dr's?? I know I sure have. I am confused about all this grain talk. Each tablet is 60 mg's. Should I take 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 in the afternoon? Or just take the whole pill in the morning like I was doing with my Synthroid? By the way, I didn't dare mention this group! That would not have went over to well. I could tell you a lot more of what she said, but it is late. I'm tired and looking forward to an Armour tomorrow!! :-)) Oh, the cost, only $12.99. No wonder they want us all on Synthroid! They make more money! So, what is this compared to 60 mg of Armour Thyroid. << Well Armour, per 60MG has 38mcg T4 And 9mcg T3 which is equal to about 36mcg T4 so about 74 mcg T4 so this is a very slightly higher dose of thyroid than you were on. If you felt hypo on your 50mcg Synthroid, you will still be hypo. Most of us need 2-4 grains Armour, or 120- 240 MG. My system is so bad from 25 years of being hypo and Dursban poisoning, I think that is why I need so much of it to feel close to normal, but I am not quite dosed right yet.
