She's a smart cookie. Glad you had a good Thanksgiving. What a nice story about the lady at the convenience store. Generally in my volunteer job at the clothing bank we have usually several homeless people in during a month. A lot of times they are people who were just one paycheck away from being homeless and several things happened like injury, surgery, job layoffs especially here, and there they are. But...I do see some (one in particular I can think of) who is alcoholic. There are others who would be homeless were it not for group homes monitored by the Mental Health Center. We do have an excellent program here for families where they can stay if they sign up for the Case Management program which assists in jobs/affordable housing and psychological care. And...there are those who just don't want to be " tied " down anymore or can't function in a structured environment any more. It is very sad to see people be homeless for whatever reason but the Bible says we will always have the poor and our job is to help them!!!
