Then her cat went hypo too. seriously. when I had to feed the cat, I had to mash up the pill in the kitty's food. I'm sure it was probably synthroid or similar. she had gotten the kitty diagnosed when the kitty started acting strange (loud whining) and other changed behavior. cindi

She may have been giving it Tapazole Well...that's a good question. i remember my friend saying that Martha (the cat) had thyroid problems just like her (and she took meds because of the thyroid being removed)....but ya know how some folks are...she coulda just meant " thyroid problems " and not hypo. Guest guest
I didn't up it that fast on my cat. He has been on thyroid meds for 4.5 years now. He was at three grains till last week then I just added another grain this week. hypothyroid in cats is listed on the web, but you won't find any info about medicating for it! All I have found just says it is rare. Now hyperthyroidism is fairly common in cats, but now young ones, it is usually an old age thing. My kitty is 7 and has been hypo since about 10 months old. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes?
