Guest guest
A DO treats the whole person - not just the symptom like an MD. And now I am thinking about saying uhm buzz off to the PA who wants to run all of these tests and oh with your TSH so low you run the risk of a heart attack etc and go to my Dr who now has her own practice. She's a little bit further away than what I want. But she's also cool with my TSH being that low as long as I don't have symptoms. Plus she doesn't run a whole bunch of tests. And she's the one who ran the blood test when I went to her complaining of heavy periods and found my TSH was 94!! Louise PS I decided today that I want another doggie. It's too quiet here!!!! I still miss Snot though. > What's a " DO " dr? Osteopath? If so, there's none around here either tho I'd like to go to one too. > CP > Question, what does DO stand for? > > > I have often wondered this... How are they different from traditional doctors? The very first doctor that gave me Armour was a DO, and I never asked, he was referred to me by a lady I worked with then MANY years ago. He was the only DO I have ever gone to but I just recently found one in this area where I am living now. Is there hope this one might also prescribe Armour? > > >
Guest guest
The first Dr. that diagnosed my thyroid problem years ago was a DO. He did do the standard thyroid blood test but what he relied on to establish the dose you needed was how you felt and body temp. He perscribed Armour thyroid. He was a great Dr. for everything. But I have to tell you, a new DO (a woman) just opened a office in our town, I haven't been - but my sister went and she said said she was nothing like our old DO. That she acted just like a regular doctor. _____ From: Sent: Sunday, December 05, 2004 8:26 AM To: NaturalThyroidHormones Subject: Re: Question, what does DO stand for? Thanks so much! I will be checking out this new DO in my area! WOW what great news for WV thyroid sufferers! Cross your fingers that I may have a new Doc to add to our list of good, Armour prescribing doctors... It will be a month or so before I can afford to see her, but WOW this is exciting! Artistic Grooming Hurricane, West Virginia --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
