Guest guest
I had to go back and look it up, but it was about 9 months I noticed 'real' words. They were pretty odd words - 'cat' and 'quack' (for his toy duck) so originally we weren't sure they were even real. He also didn't babble much. He was a pretty quiet mellow baby. He just seemed to prefer to sit and take it all in. In retrospect I think it was the tort and the fact it was uncomfortable for him to move. He didn't crawl until he 10 months and just started walking at 17-18 months. He did things backwards from most babies. He didn't have very many words early on - it's only really taken off in the last few months. The same thing happended to my girlfriend - she was worried because her son said hardly anything at 18 months, but once he figured it out, he picked up new words very quickly.
