Re: Pressure Point causing flatness

If you feel it doesn't fit properly, don't hesitate to ask for a new

one if none of the adjustments are helping. It's OK for the band to

rotate a little in the beginning, but you should always be able to

move it back to 'center'. My son's STARband never sat 'square' and

now I'm left wondering if it was the band that caused his facial

asymmetry to worsen or if it was the untreated mild tort (the dr's

kept telling me he was 'fine'...)

Either way I'm wishing I'd pushed more in the beginning for both a

proper fitting helmet and PT. We've gotten a new DOCband (which fits

MUCH better!), but I feel like we wasted precious time and will

always wonder if he'd have gotten better correction if we'd had a

proper fitting helmet in the first place. If your ortho is resistant

to address your concerns, don't hesitate to get a second opinion from

another band maker. I'm SO glad we went to CT and with

their 'official' tort diagnosis I was able to get my dr to give us a

referral to PT.

Good luck!
