Guest guest
Just to repeat things, I wanted to list some sources. International Antiaging Systems http://www.antiaging-systems.com/a2z/home.htm They have 1 grain Nature-throid. It is kind of expensive, but this is a good company in the UK. I found Nature-throid in South Africa in 1 grain doses for a little less than IAS. http://www.biogenesis.co.za/pi-thyroid.asp Someone on the Texas thyroid group found 1drugstore-online http://www.1drugstore-online.com/showprice.asp? name=thyroid & bysearch=ok & menu1=-+-Brand+name-+- & menu2=-+Generic+name They have higher dose generic thyroid made by a Thailand drug manufacturer, that looks like a good company. For those of you who want to just supplement your prescription meds, a good choice is Nutrii+meds thyroid. They have both procine and Bovine. I believe bovine is closer to human in T3 concentration. I have used the bovine in the past and it works just fine. Each tablet contains about 1/4 grain of natural thyroid. I dissolved it under my tongue to make sure I got everything out of it. It's not too economical if you take more than 1 or 2 grains a day. These are perfectly legal supplements. Don't ask the company to tell you how much thyroid is in their meds. They can't or they will loose their supplement status. Many people use Nutri+meds and depend on them, so I think the company is good about standardizing. http://www.nutri-meds.com/ There are other sources of extracts that are low dose, also. One is Thyrtrophin PMG, which is Natural thyroid with the T4 removed so that it contains mostly T3 according to one article written by a doctor condemning it for this (I can no longer find it). Other sources say that it only contains the base thyroid hormone protiens, which can be easily converted to T3. It does have some activity from my own experience with it. http://store.yahoo.com/spinelife/ http://store.yahoo.com/spinelife/thytrophinpmg.html They also carry many other good products, such as adrenal extracts and thyroid enhancing supplements, etc. They may ask for a user ID and Password, but you can join and get these I believe. Guest guest
These seem fine as I checked them out. Thanx much for reposting these. Guest guest
Great idea. Are you going to call them? Do you have a phone number? I guess i could try to find Time-Caps phone number too on the web. It's not on the label of the bottle I've got here. Guest guest
Caroline; The naturethroid on both biogenesis and antiaging systems are brand name, organic, hypoallergenic ; and NOT generic. At least, that is what is stated on their websites. I'd rather spend the extra few bucks for something that I have a better chance of feeling good on. Some people may handle the generic thyroid extract just fine, but I'd rather not chance it. Interesting side note: when I was on synthetic t4, my insurance company was too cheap to prescribe synthroid, so I started off with generic synthroid. However, I got nervous, because I wanted consistancy from batch to batch, so I asked my doctor to prescribe unithroid or levoxl instead, because both of those brand names are cheaper than synthroid. Would you believe that I did better on the generic than I did on the unithroid? I became so sick on unithroid, similar to the symptoms described by Sandy on the generic armour. It made me curious as to who made the generic brand that I was on, so I looked it up and discovered that my pharmacy uses a generic from the same company that produces synthroid, and was therefore very similar. I guess what I think now is that before I'd go for the generic , I'd want to know the generic brand's company and see if they are an off shoot of any of the companies that produce the brand names. In fact, one way to do this is to call the companies that make armour and ask if they also produce a generic, what are the fillers, what are the names, and where they can be located. Or, tell them the online pharmacy and ask if they distribute the generic to them. Just a thought. Sim > These seem fine as I checked them out. Thanx much for reposting these. Guest guest
-Caroline; Don't worry, lol, I looked up the labs only to discover that the labs that make armour happen to be right on Long Island, where I live! The factory is in Commack, which is about 25 minutes from me. I'll try and call them tommorrow and see what I can find out. I read the rest of what you wrote but it all sounds too complicated & time-consuming for my " overwhelm " state right now. I can only do so much each day, then I'm too pooped to pop & just can't do anymore, let alone " think " to do anything else. > Thanx, > Caroline > Re: Some sources for thyroid- recap > Caroline; > > The naturethroid on both biogenesis and antiaging systems are > brand name, organic, hypoallergenic ; and NOT generic. Guest guest
Sheesh! how luck can you get? Gee, you don't even have to order it.....just drive over & buy it? Okay, make the phone call & get back to us. Tee hee...just thinking you could buy it by the boxesful & ship it to the rest of us for cheaper than we could otherwise get it. And make some money on the side for yourself since you're so close to the factory there. LOL!!! Guest guest
I seem to be feeling way better today than I have a in LONG time. So something's working since I'm up to 1 3/4 grains now, which isn't much but any improvement on any amount is welcome. I might be > Caroline Yeah!! Guest guest
I hope that wasn't just short lived for this moning & early afternoon. Maybe I overdid in the garden or ate something I shouldn't have. Because I'm feeling really bad & even depressed & extremely lonely again this evening & oh, my aching back! Ups & downs on this roller coaster here. Caroline Re: Some sources for thyroid-recap I seem to be feeling way better today than I have a in LONG time.
