Guest guest
Well, we went to the University of Rochester Medical Center today to see the orthotist in hopes of getting a STARband. After inspecting 's head (and getting a second opinion from the director guy) he reccommended that we see a craiofacial specialist. He said has a different skull shape than he is used to, and he wants a second (or third, I suppose) opinion from a doctor. So he recommended we see Dr. Girotto in Rochester. He is affiliated with Golisano Children's Hospital in Rochester. So... I have to call Dr. Girotto's office tomorrow and make an appointment. He only has office hours Tuesdays and Fridays. One thing the orthotist did say is that is a little young for a helmet. He is almost 4 months old. I didn't think that was -too- young, seeing as how he'd be 4 1/2 months by the time he got the band. But I do like the idea of seeing a craniofacial specialist. Hopefully I wont have to wait -too- long to get an appointment. The orthotist did take a scan today though (they have a STARscanner). That way, if the specialist does reccommend a helmet, we have measurements. If it takes a little bit, he said we'd take another scan and then we'd have something to compare it to. I won't let it take too long though. I want to get this resolved in the shortest amount of time.
