I had my lower jaw moved back almost 2 years ago, and on occassion I

experience pain in my jaw. When we have bad storms it tends to

ache, but that's just because of the change in pressure, I think,

since there are metal implants that were acting are connecting the

bone. On other occassions though, there is a dull pain that isn't

unbareable, but causes discomfort. It happens out of the blue, and

there isn't rain or anything in the forcast, so I don't know why it

happens. I'm curious if anybody knows what is causing this, or if

it's a problem I should check into.

My surgeon warned against this. He said that for a great number of

patients, they feel discomfort when the humidity level rises in

their environment. My friend had a bicycle accident 15 years ago,

and he's still having pain (on a 1 to 10 scale, he said it's like

0.5) when it's raining, snowing or just plain humid outside.

It seems to be the case for several people having a surgery that

exposed bones to air.
