As far as I know you do not need a passport to Canada. It would be advisable

though to have the friends birth certificates and if possible a letter from

their parents' sometimes borders can be very sticky. When we went through the

US we had lots of ID for our kids as they seem to question them most of all

(making sure they belong to you and all that). Anyway hope this helps and

have fun in Vancouver (great city!)

Going to Canada, anyone know the rules at the border?

Does anyone know if we have to do anything special? I will bring their birth

certificates. Since 2 of my daughter's friends are going, is that ok?

Hi , I'm 10 minutes from the Canadan boarder. No pass ports are needed.

The kids and everyone else do need there birth certifacates. They may or my not

look at them, but you have to have them. Any pets must have the vet shot records

and must be up to date. That's all. Cindy C.

Well, for one thing, check your vehicle for any novelty items like fake

grenades! You don't want to go through and create a major back-up like we

had last week.

Here's a site that tells you what you need to know for traveling to Canada

http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/leavingarrivinginUS/how_do_i/travel_to_canada.\

This site has the expected wait-times for the Canadian border in Blaine via

Pacific Highway and at the Peace Arch

No, you don't need a passport, but you do need proof of US Citizenship. A

passport is your best bet, but birth certificates will suffice. It wouldn't

hurt to bring your expired passports as back up. We were never even asked

to present our passports or even our licenses when we crossed last July.

That may be different now though with the border patrol being a bit nervous

after the fake grenade scare.

US citizens travelling to Canada do not need a passport, but in place of a

passport, every person crossing the international border requires government

issued identification showing their citizenship (Birth, Baptismal,

Christening or Bris certificate, or naturalization documents), and photo

identification to prove that they are, who they say they are. These

documents will be required not only to travel into Canada, but also to

return to the USA. Due to homeland security issues and for convenience, both

the US State Department and the Canadian Government are encouraging all

international travellers (regardless of age)to obtain and carry a passport.

well, who knows? Our borders are pretty loose! I can't imagine there being a

problem, we seem to let anyone in.

Anyway, Thanks. I don't think we have any fake grenades laying around in the

car. is out of that phase! hehe

Now, I just have to get myself moving. I'm hurting, and don't even feel like

going now. But, my bro has a hot tub, so I'm gonna go! hehe

Should be relaxing - me, my bro and sister-in-law, and 5 teenagers! lol

Al in a 580 sq ft condo. Oh, and 2 HUGE dogs as well.

I'm sure the kids will be at the pool most of the time, and I can lay around and

read and sleep. I hope.

This will be a test, as I haven't driven this far in years. I usually avoid it.

But, I'll just keep thinking about that hot tub at the end of the road!

Hugs,

Mon
