Hi

DD just graduated at 7 months old after wearing the Starband for 2

months. I'm very pleased w/ the orthotist, she is excellent.

Regarding DD results: the flatness is gone, that aspect looks

terrific. However, DD head still is wide across the back (brachy), but

not as severe. Dr said a 2nd helmet would not help this issue any

further. Her odd spot (looks like an upside down letter " U " crease

several inches across, towards top of head that didn't pop out) the dr

said would resolve on its own.

anyone in a similar situation? what was your outcome?

thanks in advance...

Hi,

my daugheter is brachy and was banded at 5 mo and is still wearing her

band 4 mo later. we go to see the specialist later this week to see if

we are 'done'. Did your daughter outgrow the band? sometime i wish

mine would so then i know would we were done :-)

she's had a lot of correction, but still has some flatness at the

back-top (i'm guessing this is where your daughter's U is). the ortho

said this may or may not improve - no way to know. I have a feeling

the doctor will say it is up to us if we want to continue since the

band still fits.

do you have measurements or photos of your daughter? I would think at

7 mo that she would still have enough growth to improve more if you're

not happy with the result. it is true that the width won't decrease,

but if you direct more of the growth to the back it evens it out some.

my daughter is still growing but it is slow. at first she had a big

spurt. now she improves by about 1% each month. she started at 100%

and now is around 88%.

good luck with your decision

Hi ,

I hope your DD gets her helmet off at your next visit! That would be

great. I've been so glad to hold my baby and feel her head again!

Oh, the simple things in life :)

Yes, my DD outgrew her helmet. I was surprised the dr did not

recommend another helmet. He said another helmet would not help her

any further. I'm just hoping it really does resolve on its own.

Please post back and let us know what happens at your appointment.

Good luck.

Maybe someone can let us know if their odd spot did indeed resolve

on its own. I'm hoping so... negative or positive please respond! :)
