Guest guest
Hi all, I took some pictures of Dylan's stretchmarks tonight. I had been on search engine and looked up striae/Ehlers Danlos and found that type 8 is only one that has stretchmarks like his, from what I can find. But type 8 has severe tooth and gum problems at an early age. (teen years) Dylan or the family has no teeth problems. Then I came across a link that had EDS and Cushings in the same link and his Stretchmarks and 80% of his symptoms are under that syndrome. I was wondering if you could look at his striae marks and tell me if yours are any thing like these, and if so, what type are you? PS, the ones on his back are 5 years old, so they have turned white, but are deep. All 5 of my boys have them on the back, all the other boys' backs are worse, but it is the only place they have them. My twins have then on the back really bad. they cover 18 inches horizontal like Dylans, but are much deeper. Let me know if you cannot get into the site. When you click on each picture, the view is larger. Cindy C. Thanks so much. this is really important to me. http://members19.clubphoto.com/cindy755411/2001203/owner-bc9f.phtml

They look so painful! They are so much larger than any I have seen. Sara has quite a few but they have never been painful nor as deep and some of hers are rather large. I hope that some doctor will pay attention to these. Maybe this is a clue that will help doctors come up with an answer. d

Guest guest
She's so self consious about them, and is allready worried about wearing a bathing suit this summer. I had this happen to me too when I was their age, I never told a soul. Was so embarrassed I thought it was because I was " fat " . HA! NOT! But the teen in me said that could be the only reason for this to be happening to me. Only fat ladies had stretch marks... One summer in particular I remember trying to hide my thighs ... stretch marks starting showing up all over my beautiful legs ... not an ounce of fat on them but I was growing... The womanly shape was starting to show and that is where the marks started showing up. Wish I had known why it was happening. I know if my parents knew and understood like you do they would have done everything in their power to help me understand like you are. Still ... it is ugly and boy do I understand her wanting to hide them. My advice, having gone thru it... Let her be the one who chooses what she wears. They will slowly blend in to her skin color and in time will not be noticeable. But for now ... if shorts are the only answer ... so be it. At least these teens know why this is happening... Not a great consolation but it sure must be better than not knowing and just assuming you are a unique freak. Debbi
Guest guest
My gosh. Poor Dylan! is having so much pain now from these stretch marks showing up. They are all over her boobs and bum. They really hurt at first. Dylans look deeper and longer than 's. Her's seem to be short, Like 3-4 inches long, but just covering the whole areas. I haven't seen her's looking so red. She has only showed me a few times. She's very thin, but she's growing so much now. Well, I should say she's getting very curvey now. She's so self consious about them, and is allready worried about wearing a bathing suit this summer. There has GOT to be some connection to EDS here. I just don't know anyone who gets stretch marks like these kids.
Guest guest
Thanks for replying . I'm really wondering if these are EDS stretch marks at all. The ones in his groin are worse, but of course he didn't want to take a photo of those. Some of them hurt so bad when they start to show. So far no Dr has ever said anything about them. Maybe the endocrinologist will have something to say about them. These look allot like the marks on the Cushing's sites. From: Mdmssmile@... Debbi ******************************************************* Debbie, Are you saying yours look the the ones in the pictures? I haven't had anyone tell me that yet. I was beginning to think his were not related to his EDS. Are you type 3? Cindy C.
