Guest guest
> Thank you Mike, > I think your response is right on. Mine is also the last molar on the upper right side too! I am terrified of the Dentist. I f I have options, I believe I'll just have it pulled. It's just so soon after shoulder surgery. Half the old tooth is gone. When you make yout trip around the country, could you please add me to you list of stopovers if possible. I live in Arlington, Va. About 100 miles from in Richmond,Va. Is ther much bleeding from this extraction? > Thanks so much, Sincerely, S. --------------------- Your options will depend on your dentist (final choice, however, is up to you). If you do in fact have half the tooth left, I would expect your dentist to somewhat strongly suggest that you have it prepped and get a crown put on - in the interests of " saving the tooth. " The other valid arguement for a crown is that extraction will eventually cause the tooth next to it to become weaker in its position. You would, however, be talking in the $1000 range for the work and the crown. I also asked mine how many years before I could expect the next tooth to start weakening in its socket. I don't remember his answer, but I do remember mine. It was something like " Pull it - I'll probably be dead by then anyway. " Extraction is quick, easy and inexpensive. However, if he is really pushy for the other route, you can also expect him to say something like " Well, of course the decision is yours, but ... " And he will say it with a tone and expression implying deeply offended feelings that you would presume to even question his professional judgement. Been there - seen and heard both. When I get around to making the " big itinerary " the only two definite locations will be Seattle to start and Seattle to end. Everything else will be based on what touristy stuff have we always wanted to see, where are the relatives still on speaking terms with us (or us with them), and who says " Can/would/will you stop by here? " And whether we are on the road for 30 days or 90 days will be based on how many say just that and where they are located. So, consider yourself added to the list.
