Guest guest
Hi all, My husband Bill [still in denial over his EDS symptoms], finally spoke up that he was is terrible pain. Men! He tends to have worse pain from his hips and back then his lung cancer treatment area. He was told back in 2000 that he had growths or spurs in the hip joint. This hip/back problem has only flared up today. Tonight, he said his pain level was a 9 and he was moaning out loud. Almost screaming. Yet he just laid there. Something to do about his PTSD. His therapist said he doesnot seem to know when to ask for help. I am sure he would have cried if I left the apartment. After a wifely speech about getting his butt to the ER, he agreed. I called 911. With the severe cold and ice and snow on the ground I could not walk to the nearest ATM machine. When the police and EMT got here, luckily they got to see his pain. Perhaps now he will understand that there are things he can no longer do. Bill was taken by ambulance to the hospital at 11:30ish tonight. Apparenently his osteoarthritis in his right hip and back decided to give severe pain in <<spasms>>. By the time 911 arrived they had to dress him. What I wonder, is could his chemotherapy have done something to his joints. After his long walk in the snow yesterday, he returned and had severe leg pain. Today, that became back pain in spasms. Also, he has that thing where lidocaine pain medicine does not work. Tonight that seemed to happen. I think he is slow to realize his new physical limitations. Question: Has anyone heard of chemotherapy causing problems with degenerative joint disease/Osteoartheritis? Thanks. I will be off line for a while in case the hospital calls. Caro.
