It's called a 3-Point fall-you attempt to land on 3 points of the body, to

distribute the force over a wider area and lessen the severity to one particular

joint/bone. It should be the thigh/leg/upper arm area. Basically, you try to

use the whole side (or back or front) of the body and don't try to 'stop' the

fall-just go with it. Yes, it helps to relax as much as possible-which is

NOT easy when one is falling. Hope this helps a bit.

My dad has a tendency to fall and he " rolls " with the fall, thus protecting

himself...

Lana? What do you do in karate???
