Hi all! My Dr. switched me from Percocet to Oxycontin today. I

haven't started it yet. I'll start it tommorrow. I just wanted to

get some feedback from you all about it. I know there's been recent

postings but I wasn't on it then and didn't pay too much attention

to them Sorry!

Thanks, Sincerely, S.

hi,

I have been on oxycontin for the last 6 years, I think. In fact this month

because I had to change my insurance to BlueChip they only pay $3000 a year in

brandname drugs. AThat would be three months for the oxycontin alone. I just

started MS Contin but it's not workking as well. I was up to 80 mg 3x a day of

the oxy with 10 mg percocet for breakthrough. My new Dr is trying to help but

really doesn't know much. I have an appoinment at a pain clinic in two weeks.

I am hoping to get a morphine pump surgically put in. Should have taken it

when I wasa offered it 6 years ago. In RI most of the pain clinics have shut

down

but I am trying one at the rehab hospital. If you have any questions about

the oxycontin feel free to ask.

Hi ,

Thanks so much for the reply. Can ya write me off line and tell me your dose and

anything else. You live in Richmond, right? I live in Arlington, VA. I couldn't

stand the Duragesic patch either. Do I need to eat something first in the AM

before I take it?

Thanks, Sincerely, S.

Re: My Dr. put me on Oxycontin today

Hi ,

I have been on it since around May or June. I switched to it from the

Duragesic patch. It doesn't take away all the pain ( I guess that is too much

to

expect of anything) but it certainly helps. With the patch, I felt " wierd " but

I

have not had any side effects that I can tell with the Oxycontin. I hope that

you do well with it.
