Guest guest Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Hello all. I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I have no insurance. I have applied for state assistance and was denied. I can not get on my fiancee insurance because we are not married and if we did get married, it would be over a year before I would be covered (pre-exsisting condition clause) I recently got approved for medicine assistance, but I was unable to find any place to cover my test strips, which are quite expensive. Does anybody know about any programs who would be able to help me with these? Thanks! -- - Quote
Guest guest Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 , I can tell you this. I have been buying my test strips ON EBAY for my Accu-check Compact (the drums) for just about 1/2 price over the drug store price. The boxes are sealed and they always list the Expiration date. Good luck. -- In diabetes , wrote: > > Hello all. I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I have > no insurance. I have applied for state assistance and was denied. Guest guest Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 You don't say what your meter is, but you might check at Target for the TrueTrack brand, or Walgreens for the Walgreens branded meter (which is TrueTrack). At Walgreens I was able to purchase the meter for around $17. The strips are 1/2 what the other meters strips are (about $48 for 100 compared to $80-90 for 100 for the other meters (and more for some!). I think TrueTrack provides storebrand meters for CVS and other large pharmacy chains as well. Mike > > Hello all. I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I have > no insurance. Guest guest Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Even without Insurance, or Poor insurance from places, because we are Diabetic, there are places and a lot of them, from what I have heard, that Give out Free machines... Some Doctors offices will supply machines and Strips also. So you might just need to check around. ~~TINA~~ -- Re: Question About Assistance You don't say what your meter is, but you might check at Target for the TrueTrack brand, or Walgreens for the Walgreens branded meter (which is TrueTrack).
