Hi ,

I know a little about these medications for various reasons. To my knowledge,

there is no reason that they can't be used together or at least some form of

an antidepressent. In fact, they are often needed together. I used to do

parent support groups for parents of ADHD kids .

Sorry I can't say defintively.

Good luck!

My husband takes Provogil. I'm not sure if children can take it or not.

This doesn't really have anything to do with EDS but -

Does anyone have, or have a child with ADD? Or how about obsessive

compulsive disorder with generalized anxiety disorder?

I have some seious medication questions about Adderoll when taken

with celexa.

I thought I'd ask here befor I go looking for a support site for

ADD, since I sort of know you all.

My seven year old has ADD. He does not have the hyperactivity, just the

inability to focus. He is on Strattera for it. It is one of the few

medications that do not have the stimulants in it. He does have symptoms

of EDS.

This is Mike. When I get back home on Wednesday I will check my Drug

Interaction books to see what they say about these two and let you know.

Hum......

The dr let us choose between adderoll and strattera. He said the strattera had

more side effects, which is why my daughter wanted to try the adderall. She's

not hyperactive. I thought the adderoll was for Add without the hyperactivity,

but now I'm learning it's not - as it has the stimulant in it. She doesn't need

the stimulant, especially because of her anxiety disorder.

Did your son get any side effects from the strattera? If so, how long did they

last?

I am thinking I should take her off everything and try some alternative

therapies. But, the OCD is pretty bad if she isn't on the celexa, so I don't

want her going back to feeling she has to perform all those rituals that take up

so much of her time, and add to her anxiety.

So, I'll do some research on the strattera.

does have EDS symptoms. Me, her, and her sister are seeing the

geneticists next month.

Thanks

Hi Mike,

Just talked with Cindy when she was out getting cigs. Sounds like Dylan needs a

rest. I'm so glad to hear Cindy is getting it so fast. I knew she would.

We checked the drug interaction. Couldn't find anything - except something on

one site about serotonin syndrome - which is very seious. It didn't mention

celexa exactly. And, her symptoms aren't as serious as those listed for this.

I just found out that the other drug we could have chosen is the one that

doesn't have the stimulant. I'm just so confused and concerned. says

she thinks it is helping her concentrate, and wants to keep taking it. But, We

are worried. I just joined a web site support group for ADD, and asked all

about it. Waiting for some answers.

Anyway, don't you worry about us. You are busy now. I hope Dylan wont' give up

on things. I'm sure he's beat. Cindy too. A lot of stuff to learn and deal

with.

I'm sure Dylan feels like he's been hit by a truck. Cindy said he was on the

table for 10 hours! maybe a break, and a shorter session will make him feel

better. Ihope.

Hugs,

Mon

Marla, does the Stratterra help him? And how does he say he feels when he is on

it?

Just wondering, because I too have trouble focusing.

Thanks , Robin

I talked with the pharmacist. He said the opposite of the dr which was that in

his customers, there are fewer people who complain of side effects with the

sratterra.

He told me even his daughter couldn't take the adderoll, but is fine on the

stratterra.

So, for now, we are taking her off the aderroll. When things calm down a bit,

we may try the stratterra.

In the mean time, I was reading some stuff about bio-feedback. There was also

something about gold colloids. And of course nutrition, behavior management,

etc.

Anyone heard or tried of either of these?

I have , but I've but it got negative reviews from a Special Ed. teacher who is

a friend of mine and deals with OCD kids everyday. The OCD, as you said is very

time consuming for your daughter and will tend to feed the anxiety. For that

reason, I'd want to get her on the Stratterra asap.so there isn,t loss of

confidence for her. Then, I'd want to ask her what she thinks and which one she

feels better on. Just my opinion, for what it's worth.
