Guest guest Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 God, I am so glad to know that I am not the only one who things about those things! I haven't had surgery yet and I can't imagine not thinking about whether I'll fit in a chair. Or whether I'll fit through what will look like to me a small space at work or in a store. It's weird. It's one of those NSV's that I'm waiting for but it's also something that scares the hell out of me. I'm afraid that once I start losing weight, I won't be able to see it on myself. Right now, I guess I shouldn't obsess. I need to get a date before I can even begin to worry about this. Tonya 457/437/?/199 Quote

Guest guest Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Nope that's the entry way to my house. I think you can see the bike tire in the lower right. It's handy because I can just grab a case, drop it in the van and bring it into work if I need it or bust it open and dump it into the cardboard box I've put in the center of the van (removed the center of three seats). I keep about 40+ bottles of Grape, Raspberry, Tea and plain water in there. The kids and people I drive around can drink it that way. Everyone seems to appreciate it. Tea is on sale this week and I do love that stuff so I may have to put some in the basement. Although I do have a large back room I might use instead. All that is in the backroom is my freezer full of shrimp and Healthy Choice meals. Guest guest Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Hi Mike, Congradulations first of all on your surgery and weight loss thus far. I know exactly how you feel though. I have lost literally half of myself and still have days where I feel like I still need to loose 50 more pounds. I think its just from being heavy all my life I will never see myself as anything but fat no matter what anyone else says. I know it's possible to change this, after all it is just a frame of mind right? It just seems impossible sometimes. Although then I have my really good days where I look at old pictures and can't believe that was really me only 2 years ago. Just keep the faith and never forget how far you've come! Guest guest Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 OMG did I have a moment like this today over my belly.. GOOD GRIEF! I was like, I know I had surgery and I know I have lost lots of weight and my pands are much smaller and my shirts even smaller, so did it grow over night? The truth is, I still seen my belly the same too. Wierd. I really cannot wait to have a permanant change of mind and even that is not going to happen until a tummy tuck or something...Man I really need to work on this. You are SOOO not alone!!! Also, it will not be a waste of money when it comes to changing your mental state Mike, you should buy you atleast one pair. I wish I was out there, I would SO take you shopping hahahaha!! Mike Tune wrote: Everything you all are saying is true......I was in size 50 jeans before, I bought some 40's a few weeks ago......and I really could probly get into some 38's now but I feel like I am wasting money if Im going to have to buy more in a couple of months......... All this being said, I still have those moments when I look down at my belly and feel like its the same it was last year! Its really strange and I know I am allot smaller.........That's why I had to ask, because it feels so weird. To know I have dropped allot of weight but still have these bad days. Before surgery I felt like if I could just get the surgery then EVERYTHING would just be better in a flash! Well for those still pre-op it don't work like that and you have to deal with allot of demons! Thanks for all the feedback, I love this group. Guest guest Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 I wish I could drink that much. I do good to get my 64 in most days!!! I'm gonna have to switch to hot decaf tea now that it's getting cold. All this cold water is freezing me! Guest guest Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Thanks Shauna!! Another thing I do to fight this is when i am feeling fat, stupid, ugly. I tell myself so you have a great husband, great kids and family and friends. There are many people who don't have that. Just thinking of something I'm greatful for helps. It helps me crawl out of the pitty party (for one) I having at the time. This is the hardest thing for me. It is hard to fight these old messages. Guest guest Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Very Well Put , I am SOOOO Excited about Christmas this year. " O. " wrote: Mikey, Your head is playing games with you. I still have this problem; it isn't as bad as it used to be but I have days were I feel big again!! Or days when a size 8 feels big (don't slap me!!) I know a size 8 isn't big in my head. This is when you need to get out the shirt you saved, or the pants you saved or the before pictures and compare them to now. I take out and old pair of size 24 shorts, that were so tight on me they hurt, they would dig into my skin. I should have been in a size 26.. I can fit both legs in to one leg hole. I lay my size 8 shorts on top of them and see the difference. I go to the park and RUN with my kids, I can run now. I think of wow moments like last Christmas when I was up at 5am and didn't go to bed until 1am the next morning. I could have never done these things pre op. Think of the cool thinks you can do now or go try something that you have been holding back on. I so understand where you are coming from!!!!! Guest guest Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 I have been having the same issue. I think that because I am fat that I am ugly and unloveable. I am breaking this thought everyday I proclaim that " I am Beautiful " because God made me beautiful. " I am loveable " because God loves me. Last weekend I started wearing make-up so that I would feel beautiful. I can say that about 75% of the time now I can say that I am loveable and beautiful and beleive it.
