Dear ,

I can't say if your frequent periods are related to EDS or not. Did the Gyn Dr.

check the blood levels of your female hormones? Estorogen, FSH and one othere I

can't remember. If he didn't ask him to. Sometimes if you are perimenapausal

they can put you on low dose birth control pills to regulate your periods. But

you need to get it documented first. If he won't check your hormone levels, then

I would suggest getting a second opinion, preferably from a female GYN. Your

emotional rollarcoaster may be related to insufficient hormone levels. But

several things must be checked out. Blood hormone levels as I said, possibly a

pelvic sonogram and a uterine biopsy to make sure nothing else sinnister is

going on. Good Luck!

Sincerely, S.

Hello My name is and I have a friend who had referred me to this

group a while ago. Her name is Lana. I posted a message and received some

replies, THANK YOU, I am going to post this message again in hopes that maybe

I can find some more answers to my problem. I have had irregular periods for 7

years now and they steadily get worse. I sometimes have two or more within a

months time. Is this related to EDS? I have some of the other symptoms as well

but this is the most troubling for me to handle. I have been to the

Gynocologist and all he tells me is that I may be going through an early

menopause, I somehow don't beleive him. My emotional rollarcoaster of

emotions, etc are horrible to handle. If this is related to EDS is there a

certain type of doctor I need to be trying to go to? I want to thank you now

for taking the time to read my message and I hope you may be able to help me

with some answers. Thank you again.

, I agree.

If you are perimenapausal (or pre-menapausal) this can go on for some time and

you may very well need to see another doctor. I believe 's sugestion of

finding a women doctor is good because often the guys just don't get it. I don't

know how old you are, but there are things that can be done. So hormone levels,

pelvic sonogram and uterine biopsy all would be things your doc should be

talking to you about.

I went on low dose birth control pills when I was 43 and it helped a lot but

first you need to rule out anything more serious.

Good luck!
