I am so sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with MS. My best

friend's mother has MS and has dealt with it for many years now.

After many years on a walker and doing everything she still could,

finally her muscles gave out and she has been bedridden for at least

18/20yrs now.

I have heard Montel speak of his own ordeal with MS and he

recommends a diet of High Protein and exercise to keep your muscle

mass from dwindling. I know he is in pain 24/7 but he his spirit is

what keeps him going.

My friend's Mom is the same. Even now that she is bedridden, she

always greets you with a smile and takes life one day at a time.

I am now fearful my friend may be in the early stages of MS too

because she is having the same symptoms her Mom did before she was

diagnosed.

If you could, please tell us what symptoms you had that made them

think of MS and diagnose you with it. I would really appreciate it.

If you ever want to talk to anyone that has it or deals with because

of a family member, I am sure my friend or her Mom would be more

than willing to speak to you.

I will keep you in my prayers and pray that God is beside you all

the way.

Again, know you have many people who do care about you and what is

going on in your life. Keep your spirits up and fight the good

fight.

Love,

Rhonda

Rhonda,

Thanks so much for your show of love and concern! You brought tears to my eyes for the first time in a while thinking about the MS. I appreciate what you wrote so much!!!!!!! I try and have a good attitude and recently started with a much healthier diet and do walk the dog, but I am going to get a tape and learn how to do yoga for some extra exercise and was also told it helps a lot with stress. As far as talking about it with others, I would love for your friends to talk to me, since I have not even had it a year yet and have really had some rough times already. The worst for me is what it has done to my eye sight and also when I recently thought I was going crippled, because I could barely walk and could not go up stairs at all! I go for an EMG of my legs tomorrow! I hope that I get some good results, but also would like some answers which I have not been getting except for it is the RSD and MS! Those are my usual answers

and that is what I expect tomorrow.

As far as my diagnosis goes I will take some time and give it to you from the start. In February of this year I moved into my home in upstate N.Y. I was an hour and a half from my Mom and wanted to be closer for health reasons and also financial reasons. When I moved I did almost all the packing myself.( Please keep in mind that in less than 2 years I had four major surgeries also along with the RSD.) I moved here and it was ice cold and my house was full of boxes. I wanted know help putting the house together and so was completely unpacked after two weeks! My Mom was kind enough to watch my dog. After getting the dog back I noticed that she was getting sick and found out that she was going into kidney failure for the last time. I was extremely stressed and was taking no real meds. I started to get numbness and tingling on the left side of my face. It started at my chin and slowly worked its way up the side of my face until

it reached my eye. I went to the ER and while waiting for the doctor to come and see me, I completely lost my sight in my left eye for a few seconds. I was then given an eye exam and told that I had optic neuritis. It is damage that is done to the optic nerve. I lost half my sight in my left eye and it is a permanent loss. I was in the hospital for almost a week and was put on very high doses of steroids. (500mg twice a day) I was then sent home and given more steroids to take for another ten days. I was a wreck when all this was going on. I had a spinal done and also had visual field tests done also. I now give myself weekly injections of Avonex to try and control the MS. I had a very allergic reaction to the full dose, so I took half doses and now up to 3/4. I am working myself up to a full dose. I have had lost all strength in my left arm, shoulder, and hand once from a relapse a bout a month ago, was put on steroids again and now my arm is okay, but now have severe weakness

in both my legs and have Rsd in my right leg. I also have a herniated disc in my back and neck which are causing severe pain and also problems with my legs! It is so hard to figure out what is the cause of what pain.

I feel so bad that I wrote a novel that is going to take forever to read and hope that I am not boring you. Take Care and Thanks Again for such kind and Wonderful Words.LOL and Best Wishes! If you wood like my number, I will give it to you on my personal email. It is ddottidew@.... LOL
