Guest guest
I have heard that there is a list where post-ops congregate from time to time. Can anyone tell where that can be found? Dave in NC
Guest guest
Dave, I have tried, they only let post-ops on. Would sure be helpful to hear from the folks who have been there instead of many of us who can only speculate as to what we are facing. Oh well, I am learning. Guest guest
They only have post-ops on? Gee, that seems strange doesn't it? We pre-ops could gain some very helpful insight to hear all the post-ops have to say. We could get a lot of questions answered. Is something being hidden? What do they talk about that they don't want us to hear?

Guest guest
This subject caused a big riff not too long ago. Let's not get another one started. Please don't get offended. They are not hiding anything from us. They just need a place to go to get questions answered about post operative care without wading through all the insurance questions and cut-downs on Dr. R's surgery. Hopefully we will all be there one day. Peace and Love Jackie in DE pre-op

I can understand what you are saying, sort of that it is like a " dedicated " line. And that is okay with me. Many times on this MGB line I've thought that perhaps we should send some replies and questions specifically to the one individual it pertained to just so the number of our emails aren't in the hundreds daily. BUT, I for one would really benefit from the post-op questions because that would help me KNOW what lies ahead for me instead of the constant state of UNKNOWN that I currently reside in. There are many post-ops that come to this site but usually just for a few months. Here's my point, I now feel somewhat confidant that I would be okay for the first few months after surgery. I would possibly be able to get this same confidence if I could thumb through some older post-ops. Does this make sense to you? Your reply was that they need a place to go to to get questions answered about post operative care without wading.....I assume that this is post-ops getting advice from post-ops, right? If so, I sure could use hearing that too. I apologize if I have offended anyone, that is not my goal. My goal it to get all the info I can including and especially long down the road info. Thank you for listening. Liz

And aside form all the fun some serious questions get answered. Also If you post you question here it will get answered by some loving post-op. Good luck on your journey. And remember there are no dumb questions just some that get feathers flying.hehe... I too would love to chat with someone who has had the surgery a year or so ago. Guest guest
Liz- What I meant was don't get offended because they have there own space to go. There is nothing stopping you from reading off of their site but I believe that Dr. R got it started so that post ops would not have to deal with the shear volume of e-mail as this list gets. The people that post on that list are pretty much the same ones that post here. If you go on to the onelist search you will find it. What I am saying is that they just don't deal with the insurance issues and MGB vs RNY issues like we do. Please don't get mad at me I am just trying to help. Trish Lanman Praying to be on the other side in June >> Thanks Trish, Ain't it great to have support:) I have gone and chatted several times and I did find it helpful. I guess that is where I got a lot of " what happens the first few months " questions answered. Lately there has been stuff said that leads me to believe there can be later " complications " . There has even been talk of kidney transplants. All this " talk " scares me and probably unnecessarily. I feel like if we had open communication with the post-ops of 12 months plus, we would be very up to date. I'm just so shakey about the fear of the unknown. Thanks for letting me blabber.
