Guest guest
There are three acupoints that are pretty effective for relieving nausea and other stomach symptoms such as basic heartburn and indigestion. They are also pretty easy to locate since everyone can find their own naval and their own sternum. For those of you with copies of Gach, you won't find these listed in his section on nausea. The ones he lists are excellent points, but the ones I am going to list below are easier to find and use and are the ones I/we use personally. Find the " notch " at the top of the sternum. Find the xyphoid process at the bottom of the sternum. The first point is half-way between the top and the bottom of the sternum, in the center of the sternum. You have already found the xyphoid and know where your naval is. The second point is half-way between the xyphoid (bottom of the sternum) and your naval, also on the mid-line of the body. The third point is two of YOUR finger widths below the bottom of the naval. Put the top edge of your index finger right at the bottom of the naval. The center of your middle finger should then be right on the spot. Again, this will be on the mid-line of the body. Standard acupressure would tell you to just work the points. It wouldn't specify any kind of pattern. I am going to add two twists to that which make them far more effective. The first twist is from Jin Shin Do. Work the points in pairs using both hands at the same time. The second twist is from Polarity Therapy. Whichever two points you are working, keep your right hand on the bottom and your left hand on top. (This is one of the basic principles of polarity when you are working along the center line of the body - right hand toward the feet, left hand toward the head. It doesn't matter which is where when you are working elsewhere on the body.)
