Sara and I both have it. It can be a big problem with people/kids with asthma

....actually causing or aggravating asthma is the acid is aspirated into the

lungs in small quantities. My is rather atypical with mostly pain under my

ribs.

It is pretty common in EDS I've been told. Having a floppy or weak

esphosageal spinchter is too and then developing a the hernia there and reflux

often all

goes hand in hand. I've been treated with previcid, prilosex and most

recently twice a day nexium and heavy duty Zantac when I need it. I have been

" offered " several surgeries , some very new ones that I don't plan on being

their

guinea pig for. They are for the weak LES which is expected with EDS too.

Hope the test goes well! THe upper gi ... the one with the light.. w/o barium

is a breeze!

Oooooouuuuu......I have this pretty bad too......even though everythign is

under good control now......I still get this, especially if i allow myself to

get stressed out.

I should have mention in my previous post, diet can help tremendously too

with any type of GI problem, especially watching the kinds and types of food, as

well eatting smaller more frequent meals. I think someone else posted about

the correct diet. I still eat soem of the food I really like, if it is under

good control, but I don't lay down for a couple of hours so the food can move

through well.

Hugs,

Sue

Good. I hope he is ok with it. Luckly we are doing it at the children's

hospital, so they have video games he can play. Sounds like we wil be there all

day. I hope he will be ok without eating!
