Hi,

My daughter has had her band for a week and a half, She is 7 and a

half months old. Everytime I take it off to wash her hair and clean it

she scratches her head very badly. Nothing can stop her from itching

just restraining her hands until her helmet is dry and her head has

dried also. She has bad eczema and I have a anti-itch that she takes

orally to stop itching the rest of her body. It doesn't seem to work

with her head . Has anyone else had these problems???????? I really

feel bad for her. Please help!!!!!!!

Sincerely,

Meagan and Eydie DOC Band#1

The itching may just be due to the fact that her scalp is being

exposed to the air after having been covered for a long period. My

son used to scratch his head a lot when I took his off too. You might

try using Aveeno Oatmeal Bath packets. We just dumped a little of the

powder in a small cup and added water until it was a thick paste. I

usually put it on his head at the beginning of his bath so that it

could sit awhile. You have to rinse it well, but it seems to soothe

eczema-type outbreaks and should help itching.
