Guest guest
Hi all! I haven't been here in forever! I had my theigh muscle replaced last week and I've been in PT since. I loooooooove PT still. I went to see my Dr yesterday before PT and he is sooooooooooo pleased. I can still wiggle my toes and he said the nerves in my toes are waking up! But the rest of me haven't. So he said it can take up to a yr and 1/2 for nerves to wake up, so he's waiting 1 year as of yesterday's date to see if I need surgery. I have to go back monthly for visits (because of stupid insurance is getting gay with paying me lost wages since it was a Trauma - they need a note from my Dr saying I'm still under his care.) But anyhoo, he said if the nerves aren't up, he'll go in and replace them. Then he was like... " And after your 1st 6weeks of Physical Therapy, if you can't move that ankle, we'll go and replace that right away. " I was like.. " Where do you take this muscle from? " He was like.. " Your butt! " LOL. So I have...3 weeks of PT left to decide if I'm going to do that! I'm not allowed to go back to work for a LONG while. My Physical Therapist is curious because I haven't gained any muscle mass or my swelling hasn't gone down. So my Dr knows all this because my life @ the hospital is just one big circle.... my Godmommy Kathy works for Carl. Carl is my Orthopedic Surgeon. Carl and are best friends. is my Pain Management Dr. is 's son. is my boyfriend. Carl and Tom work together for RSD. Tom is my Physical Therapist. .............. interesting ah?! HeHe eric and tom are best friends. I got my own Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) unit Wednesday! My Dr wrote up a Rx for it and Tom gave it to me. (issue Rehabilitation Products - 300 PV) ttp://www.empi.com/products/index.cfm I love using that. I've been talking to PaPa Joe Ghost, who is my grandpap and travels to my house and my sisters house ALL the time. I go to bed and talk and I wake up and talk and I go the day normally (well, try to). [tearing up now thinking about it...lol] But I always tell him how I'm doing & how I really want something to come about quicker and get me walking & back to work, but I realize it's up to how fast these damn nerves grow back. Oh well. I hope everything is going well for everyone. I got a new AOL name - case6174 Talk to you all shortly!
