Guest guest
Hi Lee, It sounds like you are at a plateau and that is normal for anyone that has lost weight before. Jut keep with your diet and hang in there and it will start to come off again. Lin Lhsh@... American by birth, Saved by the grace of God. 2and a half months post op Hi everyone I am sending this post because I need a little encouragement. I had my surgery on August 28 and since my surgery I have gone from 339 to 306 but I have stayed at 306 for about two weeks now. Is it normal for your weight loss to stop and then start up again at a later time. I am getting very frustrated since I had hoped to lose so much more weight. I am trying to go for a daily walk of about 2 miles but I am so frustrated. I am afraid that I am never going to lose anymore weight. Please any suggestions I would love. Guest guest
I'm right with ya. I had my surgery August 1st. In the first month, I lost 40 pounds. In the second month, I lost 20. My 3rd month started October 1st, and since then, I've only lost 2.5 pounds. Keep trying to get all your water and protein in. I know I fail on some days, but I sure am trying! Guest guest
That's normal. Your body is adjusting to the trauma of surgery & the weight loss. Give it time & stick to your surgeon's plan. You'll see the #s dropping soon! W 380/292/160 Lea wrote: > Hi everyone > I am sending this post because I need a little encouragement. Guest guest
Wow 33lbs in less than 60days? That's great! Good job! Two weeks at the same weight is no big deal. I've stayed at the same weight for a month. I had my surgery Jan 20, 2006. It is very normal for your weight loss to stop and then start again at a later time. My advice would be for you to understand, too, that by exercising you're increasing muscle mass and, since muscle weighs more than fat, probably actually INCREASING your weight. GASP!! Stop focusing on your weight (as a number) and focus instead on your health. Keep up the daily, regular exercise. Progress your eating as your doctor instructs and enjoy the 33lbs you've already lost. I weigh myself maybe once a week when I'm over at my parents (they have a scale that can handle my weight) and I'm actually over at their house more often than once a week. Damn, come to think of it, I'm nearly below 300lbs now so I suppose I could buy my own scale and weigh myself now couldn't I? Getting a scale and weighing myself at my home sounds like a waste of time and money to me. Your doctor's office should have some information on speed and plateus of weight loss, check with them. Have a great weekend too! Mike in GR > > Hi everyone > I am sending this post because I need a little encouragement.
