** New Compassionate Care Benefits from Health Canada **

Effective January 4, a new type of EI benefits is available to

Canadian workers. Called the compassionate care benefits, they

will be paid for a maximum of six weeks to individuals who have

to be away from work temporarily to provide care or support to a

member of their family who is gravely ill with a significant
