, some kids have shown sensitivity to aspartame, but I don't think it is a

majority, and usually you have to " play around " and see if you notice a

difference in increased/decreased seizures. Noah has no problem with liquid

sweet & low (what we use) yet I am very negatively affected by aspartame myself-

I get horrible headaches & leg cramps, dizziness, etc. Most likely Jake is on

meds right now- and in Noah's case, the medications were causing a lot of his

extra seizures. When his meds were weaned & he started the diet- seizures

stopped. When you start the diet, you'll see you have to play around a bit with

different things until you find what works for you. Keep asking questions and

most likely you'll find someone on here that has experienced something similar!

In the last couple of days I have seen newspaper articles about this

sweetner. I've read that it can cause difficulties with seizures

and other illness. Is there an actually test to find out if your

child has problems with Aspartame and is this something that I

should bring up to my son's doctor? I know it might be reaching but

if this is what's causing his seizures to increase, its an easy fix

I think. But like I said, I " m probably reaching.

Thanks to all for all the advice the last couple of days. You have

no idea how much this group has helped. I've even gotten my husband

to read some of the replies and he was impressed. This has been a

long road for all of us especially my husband who wants a son who

could play sports and stay outside and play until it's dark

outside. I think this summer has been the eye opening that he's

needed.
