Guest guest
the one thing that poem brings to my memory is that I remember the most of my nice southern Grandma, is before she went out, she would always put on her red lipstick and a little powder. That was the only makeup she wore. Lin -- THIS IS A MUST READ! Maybe we should all graab that purple hat earlier. Wait a minute--aren't they backwards? Aren't you supposed to wear a purple dress and a red hat?? All kidding inside, the poem is something we should think hard about. And I remember a card wear the older woman wears the purple hat. It's just that I see SO MUCH about the "red hat ladies" and have seen them around. Love, N.

Guest guest
Lin, Never had grits, but was just talking to my Mom about not being aloud off the table when we did not finish our dinner. I hated suckatash(lima beans and corn) YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!!!!!! I also hate till this day peas!! My Dad used to buy the baby peas and tell me that they were small and they are good peas!!! No such thing as a good pea to me!! Only other thing really cannot stomach at all is venison and my Dad always tried to trick me to get me to eat it. I could smell it cooking a mile away and have had it cooked everyway imaginable!!! I do not and will not eat Bambi!!!!!!! Just in case anyone wants to tell me stories about what happens to deer!! Have heard them all lived with Dad who was big hunter! Anyhow Lin take care and have a great night! I am going to try and take Holly for a walk before it gets to dark! LOL Always! Dawn wrote: Dawn, Now that you mention that, my Grandmother only wore dresses too, which she called frocks. She would be cooking all day in her kitchen, she made the best southern fried chicken, anyway she would say that she had to go put on a new frock. The one thing I hated the most was grits, it was like eating sand, it was always a battle to try and get me to eat them. I think I usually won because they got tired of making me sit at the table. I hope you are having a good day, Lin -- THIS IS A MUST READ! Maybe we should all graab that purple hat earlier. Wait a minute--aren't they backwards? Lin, That is exactly like MY Great-Grandmother! She wouldn't leave her house without putting on her Red Lipstick and a little powder on her face! lol I always thought it was weird because it made her look pale, which she always complained about looking like to begin with.
