Guest guest
My son Jake was on 1 1/4 tablet of Keppra per day. Behaviorally it was a problem, so I cut it down by 1/4 pill every month or so. Well, the behavior improved somewhat but the drop seizures increased significantly. We saw the neuro when he was down to 1/4 tablet per day. He said that he thought the increase of drops was from Keppra withdrawal. We ramped him back up and now he's back to 1 1/4 per day and the drops are significantly better. Just our experience. I wouldn't yank it all at once either....go slow. At least 1/2 dose at a time. Guest guest
Barb--thanks for the advice. We are " chomping at the bit " to get this last drug out of her system but are keeping ourselves in check. We plan to wait at least two or three weeks before starting the wean--we'll check with her neuro before we begin--since she's only on 1/2 pill currently--probably just looking at going down to 1/4 and then pulling altogether. Is Keppra the only med Jake is on in addition to the diet? I hope all is going well for him and your family. ne > > > --how terrific--you must be thrilled!
