Guest guest
Hi Bobbi, I'm also Bobbi LOL!! Kaitlyn hasn't graduated yet, she could have 2 weeks ago but we decided to wait just one more month so she will graduate on May 2nd. She had plag with a touch of scaph. At her first initial scan her cephalic ratio was .774 and at her last scan on April 5th it's .763 I didn't know that .737 was normal, thanks for that, I learn something new everyday Kaitlyn was banded on 12-15-05 so she would have been in it a total of 4 1/2 months when she has it off for good. Bobbi, mommy to Kaitlyn , 1 years old next week! Tort (almost resolved) and plag-banded on 12-15-05 MichiganBobbi <heybobbisox@...> wrote: For you that have already graduated I was wondering how the band helped your child's cephalic index/ratio. My sons head is 133 mm long and 128 mm wide which makes for a .98 ratio. Very wide. We are seeing Cranial Tech in Phx and they said that normal is .737. He will be cast on April 28 and get his DOC band on May 8. This is two days before he is 6 mos. I was wondering if anyone could give us feedback on how much their child's index improved from banding. How long did it take? His other measurements are CVA 12 mm and facial assyms. between 4 and 5 mm. I think his brachy is more noticable than his plagio. Thanks in advance.Bobbi 5.5 mos. tort/plagioPhx Blab-away for as little as 1¢/min. Make PC-to-Phone Calls using Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Our son had 100% cephalic ratio and wore a DOC band for 8 weeks. His ratio went down to 89%, width stayed the same and we added 18mm of length in only 8 weeks. Basically a " normal " cephalic ratio is probably not possible for him with such a wide starting width, but his appearance is really pretty good. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Good luck--Stacey > For you that have already graduated I was wondering how the band > helped your child's cephalic index/ratio. Guest guest
Thank you so much. That is the info I was looking for. I know you are right, with such a wide start normal is not possible plus they might look too different if they went they far to normal. 11% seems good. 8 weeks is good too.
