I'd be in this much pain !!!! Ugh! My surgery was on Tuesday and

everything went fine. I guess I just wasn't prepared to feel this

bloated. I know walking helps and so do patience. I'll admit..I'm not a

patient person by nature !!!! I'm also finding the food choices

difficult. I've read to stay on clear liquids from 2-4 days after

surgery, and from 7-10 days. Any ideas as to which i should follow? I

could kill to hve some pureed peaches or carnation instant breakfast.

HELP!

The bariatric center where I'm having my surgery done says clear

liquids for 2 days, then full liquids for 2 weeks, then pureed for 6-8

weeks. That is fairly consistent with what I've seen at other sites. I

think it would probably be easier on the pouch to progress slowly like

that. Just my 2 cents, not worth any more than that.

Yeah I'd agree with Mike. You can MAYBE get a little more into what

you heard after a few weeks but probably more like a few months. For

something like the first few days you can't screw around with

supposition. Surely your surgeon provided you with a plan, products,

and documentation or at minimum advice. Work with you doctor

exclusively at this delicate stage.

I would follow the advice of the hospital/nutritionist that he's with

now. That's who you'll be following up w/.

I am. I'm waiting for 7 days or so before I start my pureed foods. In

the mean time I've been scaring my family off...who knew being hungry

would make a person so cranky*LOL*...I think theres a connection between

that and them pushing my pain killers which make me sleepy !
