Guest guest
I don't know what's happening here, but Francesca has suddenly started sneaking food. On Friday, she went into the kitchen and had a couple of bites of my almond croissant covered in icing sugar (I was speaking on the phone in the other room), then a little while later she had a grape (or she only admitted to one!), then she helped herself to her night time cookie which I had left on the side wrapped in foil to defrost. (I gave her butter after the croissant). 8pm blood ketone level was 3.9 which I was amazed at. Yesterday, she seemed fine, then this morning her ketone level was just 2.4 which seemed low, but the meals yesterday were a bit all over the place, as we were out and about all day. Today, at 4.15 she asked me " may I have my snack " , which was fine - usual time. She then ate at 7.00, then while I was out in the garden, at about 8pm, she raided the freezer and ate 5 of her keto cookies (still frozen, bless her!). Consequently I didn't give her another one at bedtime!!! Her ketones don't seem to be significantly lower since we increased her calories two weeks ago, so I don't think it's that her appetite is not being suppressed, but could it be that??? Help... , Mum to Francesca, Keto Kid since Sept 03, drug free since May 04, myoclonics reducing to around 3 per day at the moment...
