Guest guest
I have been so delighted that with the lowering of calories my daughter has also been able to be on a lower ratio (2.5) and is maintaining high ketones without any problem. With all the nutritional stuff we deal with using the diet, and supplements, I am wondering if it is the lack of some foods that is the problem or causes problems, or is it the ketosis itself, since it is like a drug the body produces? Don't know if I asked the question clearly? Are the ketones/ketosis causing havoc or is it the lack of good nutrition? Thanks.. , 's mumma. Guest guest
Hi I think it's the combination of both! The lack of sufficient nutrients in the food (supplements are generally not as well utilized by the body as in foods), and also being in ketosis results in lowered absorption of nutrients. For example People on a high fat diet require extra Carnitine to metabolize the fat, but it is excreted rather than being " recycled " by the body, at a much higher rate than those on a " normal " diet. With Calcium, AED's and the diet can cause it to be leached from the bones. Jill At 09:01 AM 9/09/2004, you wrote: >Don't know if I asked the question clearly?
