Guest guest
Lin, That's what I'm always afaid of, falling and getting hurt so that I can't even use the crutches. Do you know what the name of your walker is so that I can ask my dr about it? It sounds like it would be soooo much easier than these stupid crutches. I'm not ever going to walk again either, although there is one person in the group who thinks that I will, right Rhonda? She has more 'faith' in me than I do. lol Anyway, let me know what it's called if you can. And thank you for telling me about it. I didn't know that there was anything like that out there. Soft hugs, Faith Barbara and Faith, >I was on crutches for the 9 months of this, I slipped on some water on the kitchen floor, fell against the counter top broke a rib. My husband found >out about this walker that has 4 wheels and a basket underneath the seat, >anyway I resisted it as long as I could, I think because it would make this >disease more permanent to me. So I went and got one, what a difference it >made, I walk better with it than with my crutches plus with the seat and basket I can carry a lot of things from room to room and even put my >laundry baskets on it. So if you are going to have to use some kind of >walking device I suggest one of these and my insurance paid for it, it cost >$195.00, but I am never going to walk by myself so this makes it easier. >Lin Find the music you love on MSN Music. Guest guest
Faith, When I broke my rib it was very hard to use my crutches. Okay here's the name it is called Nova Cruiser Dx classic 4202c. Ronnie my son in law said that is very retro looking. Anyway this will help you if or according to Rhonda when you are able to walk without assistance because you do a more normal gait than you do with the crutches. Geez I sound like a salesperson. Anyway I hope you go try it and see how it works for you. Lin -- Re: Lin/walker (independence) Lin, That's what I'm always afaid of, falling and getting hurt so that I can't even use the crutches. Guest guest
Lin, Thank you so much for the name of this walker. I'm going to try within the next two or three weeks to get in to my dr and ask about this walker. I would go sooner, but family obligations prevent me from doing so. I am SO hoping that I can even use it. I can only put about 5 pounds of pressure on my ankle and my foot is soooo twisted and re-shaped that it's hard to do even that. Plus the leg with the rsd foot and ankle attached is 1 1/4 inches shorter than the other one (birth defect). That makes dealing with this rsd crap even harder! My foot doesn't reach the floor and my shoe with a lift in it is too heavy. It hurts my foot to even wear it let alone try to lift my foot with it on to try to walk, even if I could put pressure on it. Thank you again for the info. Soft hugs to you. Guest guest
Faith, I really hope that you will be able to use it. The young lady that told Dwight about it had been hit by a train and her gait wasn't very good, but she said she didn't feel quite so helpless with it. I hope you have a good night's sleep Lin -- Re: Lin/walker (independence) Lin, Thank you so much for the name of this walker.
