He is taking lots of mag and Vitamin D and polycitra K to help him absorb the calcium better. I will try to give it to him in smaller doses though. I have tried to wean the depakote but it made things bad. We have tried 7 other meds but nothing else worked for . I'm glad your daughter is seizure free. That is great. Is she doing the Pamidronate infusions to help with her osteoporosis? I don't know if she's old enough? does every 3 months for 3 days. So far it has helped keep him from getting fractures for 10 months. He had 3 before we started infusions and one was his femur bone. He got stepped on my a friend. Thanks for the support. Guest guest
Bobbi, Wow... it sounds like you are really doing everything. It can be so tough when you are trying to balance the problems caused by seizure meds and/ or the diet with the benefits of having less seizures. It is hard to know what is the right thing to do. It's good, at least, that he hasn't had any fractures recently. Daphne hasn't received Pamidronate infusions, yet. She hasn't had any fractures, and I think they're hoping that she might make some improvement now that she's no longer on sterroids. She's still been on antiepileptic drugs, though, not to mention the diet, so we'll see how it goes. > > , > Thanks for your email. is taking Calcimix.
