Guest guest
I remember reading a long time ago that some kids can tolerate certain brands of bubblegum. I've been looking at labels and they all seem to have sugar in them (even the 'sugar free'). Does anyone have a brand that works?? Thanks! Guest guest
We now use Wrigley's Extra brand of bubble gum. It has 1.25g. of sugar alcohols (label says 2g), which we were not allowed to use for the first 6 months on the diet (sorbitol, mannitol and maltitol). There is still some disagreement as to whether sugar alcohols are actually metabolized or not, so you might want to ask your dietician before trying it. There is also a flavor called wildberry frost-- very yummy. The gum also contains artificial sweetners, acesulfame-K and aspartame. Aspartame is a seizure trigger for some kids. If you are already using other foods with aspartame, you should be o.k. If not, just be aware of the possibility.
