Guest guest
I need some input from you folks!!! We are just back from 's " weigh in " at the neuros. In six weeks on the diet she had gained 4 lbs. Then, when I realized she had gone from 35+lbs to 39+lbs, she had a calorie reduction of 150 calories. That was two weeks ago. Well, there has been no weight loss. Zero. Just before this time of calorie reduction I also lowered her ratio from 4:1 to 3.5:1; then to 3:1 . and she acts like she is feeling better, acidosis is not always on our doorstep, and her ketones lowered at the ratio drop, but when the calorie drop came they went back up. Overall, the calorie drop seemed to bother her for a bit, I did it in two steps, but the ratio drop didn't seem to at all. Okay.... she seems very stable right now. Ratio is producing good ketones; weight is a constant. She needs to take some weight off. She was chunky to start with! Any suggestions? How long would be a good wait until I reduce calories, again? How many calories should I drop? Has anyone had this problem and dealt with it successfully. It was my understanding children were prone to lose weight on this diet, not gain it, and gain so quickly. She has never gained weight this fast, ever! And, she is not growing. Thanks for any input. I am in a quandry as what to do. is feeling good, and hadn't been before the calorie drop. , 's mum
