Guest guest
Hi Tracey, Er, not feeling overly confident I can answer this, certainly not with a Dr heading - yikes - no thanks but I will have a go tomorrow - my messages got away on me, and I got a bit snowed under, but hopefully will make better inroads in the morning, Calling Dr. ... If you read my last posting, you'll know we're having some seizure *activity* which up til last week has been absent, at least by day. Today was the second time Skyler's face 'twitched.' After both episodes, I checked his blood ketones on the Medisense...they were 2.9 and 3.3 respectively. Last week when this happened, his ketones came back up to 5.something a few hours later. Is there *normal* fluctuations like that throughout a day? Care to speculate on why the range would be so wide. Our goal is for Skyler's blood ketones to be at least in the high 5's using the home meter...in the 6's on a venous draw. Because of his size (140 lbs) and age (17), he needs to have these higher levels for seizure control. He'd been doing SO well ....it has been devastating to see these twitches... Thanks.
